GOOD START Gentle Formula is made with 100% whey proteins that are partially hydrolyzed.
For healthy infants who are not exclusively breastfed and who have a family history of allergy, feeding 100 percent whey-protein partially hydrolyzed infant formula from birth up to 4 months of age instead of a formula containing intact cow's milk proteins may reduce the risk of developing atopic dermatitis during the first year of life. The FDA has concluded that the relationship between 100 percent whey-protein partially hydrolyzed infant formulas and the reduced risk of atopic dermatitis is uncertain, because there is little scientific evidence for the relationship.
Partially hydrolyzed formulas should not be fed to infants who are allergic to milk or infants with existing milk allergy symptoms. If you suspect your baby is already allergic to milk, or if your baby is on a special formula for the treatment of allergy, your baby's care and feeding choices should be under a doctor's supervision.

DHA and ARA for Healthy Brain and Eyes

GOOD START Gentle Formula includes DHA and ARA, two fatty acids, or lipids, that are found naturally in breastmilk and which support healthy development of brain and eye tissues. This formula also has a blend of antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E as well as zinc to support a strong immune system.

Prebiotic Fiber for Digestive Health

This formula includes prebiotic Galactooligosaccharides (GOS). This prebiotic fiber is naturally occurring in breastmilk and can help support your baby's digestive health.

From Younger Formula to Older Baby and Toddler Formula

GERBER GOOD START Gentle Formula provides the nutrients babies need from birth to 12 months. The AAP recommends avoiding cow's milk as a beverage until your baby is at least one year old. Cow's milk doesn't have the proper balance of nutrients -- such as the level of iron -- your baby needs for growth and development. After one year, older baby and toddler formulas are a nutritious choice for babies who may not be eating a balanced diet.
